Geoff Moar, Chairman of the Murray Regional Strategy Group, says, among many other things, that “government policy … is using farmers and rural towns as pawns in a political game”.

Geoff’s statements in the article are obviously correct.
The problem of economic and financial degradation in rural areas is entirely political, not environmental or logistical as portrayed by the proponents of this degradation.
The only satisfactory solution for the people in these areas is Riverina State formation, politically separate from the insurmountably dominating urban populations of both NSW and Victoria.
The people in this State will have authority over the water, timber, and other natural resources within its boundaries, and will ensure that these resources are managed in the manner most beneficial, both sustainably and productively, for the people in this State.
