NSW travel restrictions illustrate why the people in The Riverina need to separate from NSW.
The current restrictions placed by NSW on travel between NSW and Victoria are an illustration of the reason the people in The Riverina need to separate from NSW.
The people in Southern NSW are much more closely associated commercially, culturally and personally to Victoria than they are to Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong. The current restrictions on travel to Victoria are causing a huge disruption to the lives and livelihoods of the people in Southern NSW, while they have had little to no effect on the people in Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong.
The super majority of politicians and population in Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong have made a decision that has little to no effect on themselves, but is greatly detrimental to the people in The Riverina.
But the people in The Riverina can do nothing about it because we are an insignificant minority, and effectively have no political representation or influence in NSW.
Add the travel restrictions to the water debacle, increasing timber industry reductions, and in fact all the natural resource restrictions imposed by NSW that are reducing the wealth of the people in The Riverina.
The people in The Riverina need a Riverina State to protect their livelihoods and their other interests.
And we need it now!
