Edward River Shire (Deniliquin) Population Declines by 17 % Since 2020
Edward River Shire (Deniliquin) population has declined by 17% since the year 2000. Mainly caused by declining employment, caused to a large degree by the decimation of the irrigation and timber industries. Serious stuff!
The below replacement Australian birth rate (1.63% in 2022) has also been recognised as a cause. This problem is existential and needs urgent attention.
Regarding the securing of employment and prosperity, The Riverina State was needed 150 years ago, and more so now.
