6th Anniversary of the Canberra Great Water Protest
On the 2nd and 3rd of December 2019, country people enacted the largest water protest in Australian history.
The only further step that could have been taken to ensure an improvement in government water policy for rural people was for protesters to have entered Parliament House as a revolution.
Despite this protest, government water policy has remained unchanged, regardless of whether it is the Labor Party or Liberal/National Coalition governing Australia.
As history has shown, nothing to date has effected a solution satisfactory to rural people.
It is apparent that they only solution is the formation of a Riverina State, including the catchment of the Murray River and its tributaries, separate from both NSW and Victoria, administering the natural resources, including water, in this State.
